Frequently Asked Questions

Q: What is your service area?

A: We service Cupertino, Saratoga, South Sunnyvale & surrounding cities.

Q: Do you service outside of these areas?

A: Yes. However, we charged an extra $2.00 per mile outside of the designated areas.

Q: How will my child know if it is a Kids Kab vehicle?

A: All Kids Kab vehicles are marked Kids Kab “For Kids Who Are Going Places” Also, every driver will have an id card and will be wearing a t-shirt with the Kids Kab logo.

Q: Will my child be picked up on time?

A: Yes. However some traffic and/or weather conditions may cause the driver to be 5-10 minutes late.

Q: What will happen if my child is not at the pick up location?

A: The driver will contact the office and there we can contact the child’s school to ensure the child was in class that day. If the school attendant tells us that they were in school we will then contact the parent. Should the parent be unreachable we will then contact the given emergency contact. If the school attendant informs Kids Kab they were NOT in class that day, we will then tell the driver to leave, but a verification phone call will still be made.

Q: Will my child be the only one on board?

A: At times there is only one child on board, however it depends on how many children from your child’s school also use our service.

Q: Will my child be the first to be dropped off?

A: If your child is the only one in the vehicle for that day then, yes. If there are other children then the driver will drop each child off accordingly.

Q: Will the driver walk my child to the door?

A: Yes, if requested. If not requested the driver will wait until they see that the child safely makes it indoors.

Q: Will it be the same driver everyday?

A: Yes, unless the driver is absent.

 Q: What type of security checks do you run on your drivers?

A: We conduct criminal background checks, fingerprinting and drug tests on all of our drivers. Once hired, drivers are put into a random drug testing pool mandated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP).

Q: What kind of licensing and certifications do your drivers carry?

A: All drivers are required to obtain a “Youth Bus Certification” in addition with a training certificate that has been issued by a state certified instructor. Some of our drivers have also obtained their Class B “Commercial” license with a P “passenger” endorsement.

Q: Are safety belts and booster or car seats enforced?

A: Yes. Every Kids Kab vehicle has a safety belt for each available seat. We also have booster and car seats available as needed.

Q: Are your vehicles maintained?

A: Yes, The driver will inspect his/her vehicle at the beginning of every shift. We are also mandated by the California Highway Patrol (CHP) to have our vehicle inspected by a certified auto technician every 45 days.

Q: What type of licensing does your company carry?

A: We carry a “Passenger Stage License” as well as a “Charter Party License”.

Q: Are you insured?

A: Yes. We are fully insured, which is a mandated requirement by the California Highway Patrol (CHP)

Q: How does your billing work?

A: Kids Kab will send an invoice to the parents 1 week prior to the next month’s service. Payments are due by the 15 th of the statement month.
