PARENTAL POLICIES Reminder for Pick-Ups Please remind your child to be ready to go at the
time Kids Kab is scheduled to pick him/her up or to
be at the designated pick-up location as soon as his/her
class or activity is done. This will help us get all
the kids to where they need to go in a timely manner.
However, if a Kids Kab van has not arrived for pick-up
within 15 minutes, please call our office at (408)
342-0100 and we will advise you of the situation. If
your child calls you instead of Kids Kab, please call
us before you run out to get him/her because we are
most likely on our way there. Reminder for Drop-Offs Kids Kab offers its services based on the transportation
needs of many children. Please be advised that it is
not uncommon for your child to ride with other children.
We may have several children that we must transport
on one van, when this occurs we might run a little
behind schedule when dropping your child off.
No Shows For the safety of your child, courtesy of the driver,
and timeliness of our routes, it is extremely important
that you advise us if your child does not need a ride.
We attempt to confirm your child’s absence as
much as possible – by going to the classroom
and asking the teacher, calling the school office,
calling a parent at work, asking other kids on the
van if they saw your child today, etc. This is very
time consuming, it delays us from other pick-ups, and
gives us gray hair worrying about your child!! Please
call us first thing in the morning (i.e. not at the
school as you drive away with your child). There will
be a $10.00 service fee on your next bill if we do
not receive a call to cancel a ride before the ride
occurs.
Payment Policy All transportation is prepaid to confirm your child’s
schedule. Scheduling of rides and billing are done
mid-month and payment is due by the end of the month
for the upcoming month’s transportation. Due
to the large number of late payments, a late payment
fee of $15.00 will be incurred if we have not received
payment by the 15th of the following month. There is
also a $25.00 fee for all returned checks.
Cancellation Policy There is a seven day advance cancellation policy.
If canceling within that time frame, you will receive
credit on your account for the upcoming month. If canceling
seven days or less prior to the pickup date, there
will be no credit applied to your account for the upcoming
month.
Second “Deliveries” We want to make sure each child is dropped off safely.
If your child is unable to be left at the specified
drop-off location due to being locked out, an adult
not being there upon arrival, unforeseen changes in
your child's extracurricular activities, etc., Kids
Kab will contact the parent to get an alternative drop
off location. There will be, however, a $15.00 surcharge
if the driver needs to wait for more than 15 minutes,
take the child on another ride, or do a “second
delivery.” Parents please have a back-up plan
for these situations and discuss them with your child. KIDS RULES While on board a Kids Kab vehicle,
transportation rules must be followed at all times.
Parents, please remind your children of the importance
of these rules throughout the year. Kids Kab is transporting
the most precious cargo of all – your child – and
we want to ensure that every ride on a Kids Kab vehicle
is SAFE!
- Passengers must wear seat belts at all times.
- Passengers will remain seated while the van
is moving. Passengers should not board or depart
from
the vehicle until the vehicle has come to a complete
stop and the driver has opened the door.
- All passengers will obey the driver during
pick up, transport, and delivery. The driver may
assign
seats, if necessary.
- No object throwing is allowed in or out of
a Kids Kab vehicle.
- No hanging in or out of the windows while
riding in a Kids Kab vehicle.
- No passenger disturbance allowed while riding
in a Kids Kab vehicle. It is vital to everyone
that the
driver is able to concentrate while the vehicle
is in motion.
- Passengers should not destroy van property
or the property of other passengers.
- All passengers must be courteous; inappropriate
language/behavior is not acceptable or tolerated.
- All passengers must dispose of their own food
wrappers, cans, etc.
- Kids Kab is not liable
for any missing or damaged items left on a Kids
Kab vehicle.
